Deafgard 1329-A01 Acoustic Pillow Fire Alarm Device

Deaf and hard of hearing people are in danger of not hearing the fire alarm.

Deafgard is the safe, legal and cost effective solution.

  • Part III of the DDA (Disability Discrimination Act) became mandatory on October 1 2004, and states that service providers such as hoteliers and suppliers of sleeping accommodation are legally obliged to make provision for the disabled - including deaf and hard of hearing people.

  • In the event of fire, a deaf or hard of hearing person will not be able to hear the fire alarm - especially when they are asleep in hotels, sheltered housing, care homes etc.  This is a high risk and life threatening situation and the Deafgard 1329-A01 is considered to be an excellent solution.

  • This safe, legal solution, offers the simplest and most cost-effective way of legally communicating the sounding of a fire alarm to deaf and hard of hearing people in hotel rooms and other residential premises.

Deafgard 1329-A01

  • Deafgard is a fully portable, wire free, acoustically-triggered bedside unit that incorporates a high-intensity strobe and a connected vibrator pad.  The vibrator pad is placed under the pillow and would vibrate to wake the sleeping person in the event of the fire alarm sounding.  A flashing strobe light and LCD provide visual indication that the fire alarm is sounding, allowing the individual to leave their room to a place of safety.

Deafgard Features

  • No installation required
  • Wire-free technology
  • Automatically activates when the fire alarm sounds
  • Fail-to-safe dual battery supply
  • Alarm clock facility for the deaf and hard of hearing
